from kai: “The soundtrack to my 18th summer riding a Chinese Taotao 50cc scooter around Taqueria Moran and four tracking my Sta-Prest-Dreams. I thought it would be cool to record a bunch of songs that never really got recorded in a semi-more-thought-out-way. Recorded on a Tascam Porta One in the old concrete Stulogulo with an imaginary band of Men in Green Striped Trousers. The original Sharp Pins garagepopspew sound in all of its crustiness and yelping...I think I dubbed like 50 of these. Now my teenage dream is yours.

Tracks 1-10 are all covers of songs that appeared on the 2002 reissue of Mods Mayday '79, a compilation originally released in 1979 and which covered the late 70s UK mod scene:

"It's A Mod Mod World," "Face Of Youth Today," "I've Got You On My Mind," "B-A-B-Y Baby Love" and "Live Without Her Love" were originally performed by Squire (2).
"Tonight's The Night," "Love Only Me" and "Let Me Be The One" were originally performed by The Mods (4).
"Friday Night" was originally performed by Beggar.
"Days Of Change" was originally performed by Secret Affair.

Track 11 is an early recording of Sharp Pins' "Race For The Audience" which was later re-recorded for Radio DDR.

All songs recorded in 2023 by Kai Slater
