The Shacks - This Strange Effect / Hands In Your Pockets 7" [Big Crown]
Frais de port calculés à la caisse.
Big Crown Records! Check out this overview and this single-by-single account by co-founder Danny Akelepse. Like Daptone Records, Big Crown has tapped into a classic soul sound without sounding phoney or like they're trying too hard. This is just solid soul in the grand tradition of soul... pushing the envelope a little, with all respect to the past. Great 45s to blow minds at home or in the club!
From Big Crown's Danny Akelepse:
This is the first 45 by the Shacks, and it’s dope. “Hands In Your Pockets” is a reggae rhythm with Shannon Wise singing on it. It’s actually the Frighteners rhythm section on here. The cover they did of “This Strange Effect” became a worldwide Apple ad. Shannon was in the commercial, so this record went pretty far and it really made the Shacks famous. This is a killer two sider and these are two really dope songs.
