Great, perfect UK DIY reissued by IN THE RED for Record Store Day!

Mysterious N.E UK based solo project by 'John' who was also a member of Idol Death. Full name of artist is John Irvine, nowadays recording as Repetitive John. The Four Plugs single was recorded in Redcar in December 1978 by John Irvine who was based in Darlington, Co Durham at that time. The record was played several times on The John Peel show on Radio 1 and received reviews in the magazines Sounds and NME. Inspired by the Residents version of Satisfaction, copies were sold worldwide via numerous distributors in the UK. Through the 80s and into the 90s John Irvine worked with Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer as their live-show tape-jockey (triggering sound fx and music from cassettes and later samplers). He is also the author of the ever popular website entrances2hell.co.uk. Other Four Plugs material has been released on cassette in 2021 by tape-label Industrial Coast who are based in Thirsk, Yorkshire (not too far from Redcar).
