Mystic Inane - Beauty

When Mystic Inane came to Memphis in 2015 to play a Gonerfest after show, The first question asked once the band arrived in town was an inquiry concerning the best cemetery to drink in before the show...which was slated to start at 2AM. They were directed to go to Elmwood, where they drank 40's among the monuments and and Myrtles until it was time to tear the Buccaneer into two pieces. Does this matter? No. But it stands as a wonderful anecdote to a wonderful band. Their last single, posthumously released by Cleta Patra and La Vida Es Un Mus, could very well be considered their best. The songs are exemplary of the MI approach to punk--barky, disjointed, a slight angular, stompy, and tinted with humor.
