Chronophage - Th' Pig Kiss'd Album

Chronophage are back! Their 2018 debut LP 'Prolog for Tomorrow' was a serious shop favorite and 'Th' Pig Kiss'd Album' does not disappoint for a second spin around their idiosyncratic world of seasick pop and lurching post-punk rhythms. The fidelity has taken a half-step forward but there's no charm lost, it sounds like they're still playing the same $100 guitars and a $50 keyboard. Lots of folks yammering on with the usual comparisons to underground rock a-listers of yesteryear but these kids definitely couldn't be bothered, this is their own thing. Underneath all the oxidized scratch and scrape attack there's a batch of great tuneful songs.
