Goner Cookbook - 2022 REPRINT!
FINAL REPRINT OF THE GONER COOKBOOK!
IN STOCK NOW!
Makes a great gift!
We published this cookbook in 2004 after our then-thriving Goner Bulletin Board (aka The Goner Board) was awash in food discussions, tips, and recipes both solid and super-sketchy. It was obvious that compiling this wisdom would be necessary, but we had no idea the demand would be so great. It sold out almost immediately.
This is, except for the Introduction, a straight repress of the 2004 edition.
Lots has changed since then. Even the Goner Board is gone. This reprints a lot of online discussions of food, hangover cures, common questions and problems, and captures whole lot of the spirit of the old board.

From the INTRODUCTION
We’ve wanted to get this cookbook back in print for years. It’s such a great snapshot of the Goner Community coming together, sharing very important information / recipes in ways that are funny, serious, and all over the place, just like the Goner scene was at the time. This was 2004- before Katrina, before Nashville exploded, before Facebook, before 15 years of Goner Records. Our weird little corner of the internet was cooking, eating, arguing, and laughing on the Goner Board. It’s great to read, even as the sense of what’s lost sneaks through these captured conversations as we read them today.
FROM THE ORIGINAL INTRODUCTION
We Goners like to eat. Since we found that the best food always seemed to be coming out of our friends’ kitchens, we decided to solicit recipes from our network of Goners around the globe. This cookbook is the result. High brown recipes from lowlifes, Low brow recipes from those living high, good eating and drinking for everyone. The recipes in here range from ridiculously simple to absurdly involved. We’ve got 3 minute ramen noodles and we’ve got sauces and side dishes and breads that require days to prepare. And of course we’ve got lots of unique drinks to sip on while the main course simmers. To preserve some of the zest of the Goner Records website, we’ve included some food-oriented dissuasions from the site’s bulletin board- edited somewhat, as most discussions discuss 10-12 things simultaneously- but hopefully not so much that the freewheeling nature of the board has been lost.
