Charley Patton was a pioneering Delta Blues singer and guitarist and is widely considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. Though he only recorded around 50 tracks in his entire career, he was a popular touring performer and his legend has only grown in the nearly 100 years since his voice and guitar were first pressed on shellac. Patton performed with and at times mentored such blues legends as Robert Johnson, and Chester Burnett (aka Howlin' Wolf). On Some Of These Days I'll Be Gone: The Paramount Recording Session, Grafton, WI May 1930, Wax Love brings together 15 of Patton's most well regarded sides. Paramount released some of the most important blues of all-time and Charley Patton may be the absolute cream of the crop. Another essential blues piece on Wax Love.
