This special LP release presents the enigmatic rock & roll pioneer’s breakthrough debut album, At Home with Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, which was originally released in 1958 on the Epic label. Over the course of this set, it becomes clear that Hawkins was incapable of limiting himself to one genre. It is a carefully arranged yet gritty full-band rhythm and blues album (similar in style to those of his contemporary Ray Charles), except that the singer.
